Village of Coleman

President Glenn Woulf welcomes snowmobilers to visit the many business’s the Village of Coleman has to offer.  Please stop in and enjoy yourself.

The Coleman area was originally inhabited by the Algonquin Indians, part of the Menominee Indian branch.  The tribe was best known for their trading center, located on the river between the present day cities of Marinette and Menominee.  From 1870 until the turn of the century, four distinct settlements of Scandinavians, French, German and Polish settlers made up the village.  Many of these people migrated to the area after the famous Peshtigo Fire of 1871.

From these modest beginnings more than 100 years ago the area has grown to be an important part in every aspect of Marinette County, and this quaint community represents the epitome of small town life.. quiet, stable, endearingly serene.

The Village of Coleman has 4 eating establishments for your dining pleasure.  All establishments are located on Hwy 141.  Barnstormers, Christopher’s Restaurant & Bakery, Hansen’s Restaurant and Sodie’s Inc. Drive-Thru all feature fine dining and great food.

We have a park and ride just off  Hwy 141 in the Village of Coleman for the snowmobilers to park and ride.
